SDL3
SDL Type 3: - (Paypal "Type 2" Forms)
WARNING: Because of the large sizes of sound files, you may want to keep your bandwidth usage in mind on your account so you don't go over any limits if your site gets very popular. Also, all sound files used on Allwebco hosting MUST be legal for you to use and not infringe on any copyrights.

Setting up your website template:

Step 1:
EDIT FLASH ANIMATION: | Click for more details
Open the "flash.txt" file with Notepad and change the text following "logo=" with your name or band name. Be sure not to delete the "logo=". Edit the text phrases following "&cornerletter=" and "&ticker" with your text, or leave these blank. This will update the Flash logo on all pages. If you wish to use a graphic logo, there are instructions later in this document.

HOME FLASH IMAGE CHANGER: | Click for more details
The animation on the homepage (index.html) is showing 8 .jpg images. You will find these images in the "flash" folder. You can replace "home-image1.jpg" through "home-image8.jpg" with any standard .jpg images and the flash will update. Make your images 750 wide x 350 pixels high.

SIDEBAR FLASH IMAGE CHANGER: | Click for more details
The animation in the right sidebar on all sub-pages is showing 8 .jpg images. You will find these images in the "flash" folder. You can replace "image1.jpg" through "image8.jpg" with any standard .jpg images and the flash will update. Make your images 150 wide x 100 pixels high.

Step 2:
EDIT COPYRIGHT: | Click for more details
Open the "copyright.js" file in Notepad or any text editor, and edit "sitename.com" with your name or site name. This will update the footer on all pages. Edit all ".js" files with a text editor.

Step 3:
EDIT CONTACT INFO: | Click for more details
Open the "contact.js" in Notepad or any text editor and change the website name, address, phone and fax numbers and e-mail address (edit e-mail in 2 places). This will update the contact info on the contact page.

Step 4:
EDIT THE CONTACT FORM:

Click for current info on setting up the template forms.

Click for info on adding more fields to the forms.

Click for changing form sizes or colors.

If you want to use only e-mail on the contact page you can remove the contact form from the "contact.htm" between the comment tags.

Step 5:
REPLACE THE GALLERY PICTURES: | Click for more details | Thumbnail Help
So you can setup the slideshow and gallery at the same time, the best way to setup the pictures in the gallery is not to actually edit the HTML pages and change the pictures on each individual page. The fastest way is to simply replace the pictures in the "gallery" folder with your own images by overwriting the files that are in there now and using the same generic names.

In the "gallery" folder, replace all "Fgallery" pictures you will be using with full size photos. This will be 12 full sized images per page. Replace the "gallery" pictures with your thumbnails. The "gallery?.jpg" thumbnails are now 70 x 47 pixels and "Fgallery.jpg" images are 750 x 500 pixels, but you can make them any size that you prefer. It is best to not go wider than 750 pixels total width for any page on your site.

If you change gallery image sizes, you may optionally want to edit code in the "coolstyle.css" in the "GALLERY PAGE CODE" section. For other page images see "options" below.

Step 6:
EDIT THE SOUND:
All the sounds used on this template can be found in the "samples" folder. Players and player code is located in the "xmp3Player-mini" folder.

EDIT THE HOMEPAGE SOUND: | Click for more details
To replace the sound on the home page (index.html) replace the "home-sound.mp3" in the "samples" folder. Try to keep the homepage file size small so the site downloads faster. The code for the sound can be viewed in the "player-home.js" in the "xmp3Player-mini" folder.

SAMPLES PAGES: | Click for more details
Replace all the .mp3 files in the "samples" folder with your own. Each is named for the page and placement on the page. Example: "song1-1.mp3" is in "samples1.htm", spot 1. "song2-12.mp3" is in "samples2.htm", spot 12. It's quicker to simply replace these mp3 files rather than edit the HTML pages, although you can do this either way. Editing mp3 names in the "samples?.htm" pages is best done in Notepad before you start editing the pages using other HTML software because of the javascript. Click for info on adding more samples to a page or to add more samples pages.

THE SAMPLES PAGES FLASH MP3 PLAYER:
The "samples" pages use .mp3 files and are playing them inside the Allwebco xmp3mini player add-on. You can change the skin of the xmp3mini Flash player by editing the "player-xmp3.js" and other ".js" files in the "xmp3Player-mini" folder. Click here to see details and options for the xmp3mini Flash player. Files for the player are located in the "xmp3Player-mini" folder.

Step 7 (SDL3):
SETTING UP MP3s FOR AUTODOWNLOADS:
To setup your mp3 "album" files to sell with automatic downloads you will edit the "samples1.htm" through "samples4.htm" pages. Click here for setup info. (This template is an SDL3 type)

  2. Rename the 4 "ALBUM-samples?.htm" pages to "samples1.htm" through "samples4.htm" keeping their respective numbers.
  3. See the SDL setup page and setup your pages as SDL3. Do not do steps labeled "SINGLES" only.

  4. Move the remaining "NOFORMS-samples?.htm" pages into the extras folder.
NOTE: The template robots.txt is setup to keep search engines out of your "download" folder. Be sure to upload this file to your hosting area.

Step 8:
PODCAST SETUP: | Click for more details
The Podcast folder contains sample Podcast files only. You will need correct software and hardware to offer Podcasts on your website. Click here for Podcast support.

Each video has a MOV file and a WMV file you will replace. Edit the "video.htm" with your video titles and descriptions. Be sure to test all links on the "video.htm". You can edit the 8 HTML pages in your "videos" folder like any other HTML page. All images used on the "video.htm" page can be found in the "videos" folder. Click link above for more details.

Step 10:
EDIT PAGES: | Software choices | Notepad Editing

Step 11:
EDIT TITLES, DESCRIPTIONS AND KEYWORDS: | Click for more details
Open each of the pages and change the titles (at the very top of the page) and also the description and the keywords with details about your product or service. You can edit one page and copy and paste to the other pages. Be careful to only change what's inside the "" so you don't disturb the html code. Page titles are important so your site will get a good listing at Google, Yahoo!, Bing and other search engines.

Step 12:
UPLOAD: | Click for more details
Upload the pages on to your hosting company's server using ftp software or Windows Explorer or your control panel. Be sure to upload the "picts" and "samples" and "gallery" and "xmp3Player-mini" and "flash" and "videos" and "podcasts" folders and all files in these folders.

Options:

USING A GRAPHIC LOGO:
You can replace the Flash logo with a graphic logo. To do this, delete or rename the "header.js", then rename the "graphic_logo_header.js" to "header.js". In the picts folder you will find a graphic called "logo.jpg". Edit this graphic with your logo. It's best to keep this graphic no wider than 750 pixels.

USING NO SOUND ON THE HOMEPAGE:
If you would like no sound on the homepage (index.html) open the "index.html" and remove the "FLASH MP3 PLAYER" code area.

SETTING UP THE SLIDESHOW: | Click for more details
In the gallery folder replace the "slideshow-start.jpg" with your slideshow starting slide. The slideshow is currently setup to display all 36 "Fgallery?.jpg" pictures in the "gallery" folder. If you would like to add or remove pictures from the slideshow, open the slideshow.htm in Notepad and look for the "EDIT THIS AREA" note. Copy and paste to add new pictures to the list, or delete lines to remove pictures. You can also set the AutoPlay speed. Look for "var rotate_delay = 3000".

SLIDESHOW SOUND:
The "slideshow.htm" is playing a background sound named "song1-1.mp3" that is in the "samples" folder. You can replace this mp3 file. To remove the slideshow sound, open the "slideshow.htm" and remove the "FLASH MP3 PLAYER" code area.

ABOUT THE 2 SIDEBAR .js FILES: | Click for more details

CHANGING / ADDING MENU BUTTONS: | Click for more details
You can change the names on the buttons like "Scene" or "Contact" to other page names by editing the "menu.js" in Notepad. Whatever you change in the "menu.js" will change every page on the website. Keep the names short so they don't go outside the menu. You can add more pages by copying the menu button code in the "menu.js" and pasting it right below the next. Be sure to back up your file before you edit it.

The menu for the image gallery and slideshow is called "menu_gallery.js". Edit this .js file if you add more galleries or if you want to use other names for the links "G1", "G2", "G3", in the gallery.

PICTURES: | Click for more details
You can replace all images with your own. The main page pictures are now 750 x 50 pixels but you can use any size picture you want and the pages will size them to fit automatically. Each page has it's own picture or pictures which are named according to the page they're on or file they are used in. There are also 4 "cd.jpg" pictures to replace with your own cover art as well as sidebar images and merchandise images. You will find all pictures in the "picts" folder. Hover your mouse over any image to view the image sizes.

Images used on the video pages are located in the "videos" folder.

ADDING PAGES: | Click for more details
